How & Why PCF was established
The PCS Board of Directors has long known that a permanent site would ensure that PCS remains a sustainable, award-winning public school choice in Santa Cruz County. PCS’s current lease with the Santa Cruz City Schools for the former Natural Bridges Elementary School required the lessor to give as little as two years notice. Ever mindful of a possible pending decision of Santa Cruz City Schools to exercise this right, the PCS Board of Directors worked steadily behind the scenes to roll out a viable strategy to meet this challenge.
The Pacific Collegiate Foundation was established in 2011 to help address this eventuality and to stand at the ready to help PCS secure a new permanent school site. In 2012 the Santa Cruz City Schools gave PCS the two-year notice to vacate.
Santa Cruz City Schools intends to repopulate PCS’s current site with elementary school students.
